The Country Womens Association
The Country Women's Association have a hall at 16 Warwick Avenue and meet every Monday morning at 9.30. Every fourth Monday is a formal meeting and on the others we hold 'Friendship mornings', where we have craft and art activities and/or classes or just sit and socialise with a cuppa.
The goods produced by these activities are donated to various organisations both in Wyong shire and further away - sometimes overseas.
The CWA organisation has an international programme where we study one country in depth each year. We have involved the school in this programme and together we share information and endeavour to further our knowledge and understanding of other cultures.
We also take an active interest in our environment and study a particular agricultural product each year. In this connection we have an active Waterwatch group and test the water in Lake Macquarie regularly.
A small group meets on Friday mornings and produces some magnificent machinery embroidery.
We also take an interest in cooking - swapping recipes and entering competitions. We have lots of tea at our gatherings but not all that many scones.
All ladies are welcome to join us for fun, friendship and a useful role in the wider community.
At our annual general meeting held in October 2012 the following were elected to office for the 2012-2013 year:
President Mrs Jenny Stott Phone 43592351
Secretary Mrs Elisabeth Hodgson Phone 49726176
Treasurer Mrs Rhonda Whiteman Phone 49726159
